About a week and a half ago I received a free music track of Amy Stroup's music through the "Becoming Fools" video project (also a very interesting project, see link here). I've received free mp3's before, and so I was a bit sceptical about what the quality would be like. However, I was completely captivated by the music--both the quality of the music and the quality of the message. I decided to look her up. I found her website with a link to a Youtube channel with music videos. Here's a taste.

Another piece of excellent music came through a facebook post about a week ago. The piece is called "Latinoamérica" by a group called Calle 13. The song speaks in rich word pictures of the struggles in Latin America, and ultimately takes joy in being unique and in the things that can't be bought or sold. The chorus goes like this:

The last bit of music I want to share comes from a site called Jamendo, which offers artists and music lovers a place to share music and communicate (more info on Jamendo after the Music). Granted on a free site, there is always some rubbish, and likely a lot of music that you aren't going to really appreciate. But that's the case with every collection of music...free or non-free. The music here is among the jewels of Jamendo, in my opinion. It's a mellow combination of acoustic guitar, paino, melodies, and is quite relaxing. Comments on Jamendo: "Very easy on the ears. Great songs to lie back and enjoy. Sunday songs I call them, when you just want to relax and chill, maybe reminisce old times..." "Magical combination of piano and guitar which takes the listener to another world, world of dreams. It is real ART."
